For all my life I have supported Burnley Football Club. Though it is more than 25 years since I visited the inner workings of the club on a stadium tour. In that time Burnley have made it to the English Premier League three times, the latest of which is just this past season, and they will return to playing in the Premier League in August later this year.

With the money and tv exposure of recent seasons I fully expected the inner areas of the club to have changed majorly since the last time I visited. It was a big surprise to learn that things have actually not changed that much.
First of all on the stadium tour, which happens just once a week, had only two people on it, my wife Elizabeth & I. The Chairman’s lounge which hosts some of the top big wigs on English Football was far from grand. The away changing room shocked me ..but the thought of multi millionaire premier league footballers having to endure those made me smile. What would Wayne Rooney make of changing in that 35 year old box changing room?

I have been to watch games at Turf Moor hundreds of times, cheered on my team to many wins, but it always is a great privilege to be able to go behind the scenes, and it is hard to express how enjoyable it was to spend some time wandering and reliving some memories. It was a brilliant few hours spent in what is without question the most important place in my life.

Good for you! You’ll be happy to know that one of your boys, Tom Heaton, has made it to the England squad for Euro 2016! Go Burnley!!
That’s one Happy Chappy !! Did you drop off your resume while you were there??
