Take Me Away

We are into June and this is my first blog post of 2018, which is a shade re-miss of me, though with no travels or poetry the pipeline, there did not seem much reason to post.  I’m in the middle of writing a poem called ‘The Path’, but that is still in the works.

Anyway, the good news is travel plans have been made and are taking shape for a trip to Europe in October.  A flight from Seattle to Portugal will go via London for a long old journey, but it will be worth it to visit Lisbon, a place and a country I have never been to before.

After 4-5 days in the Portuguese capital it will be off to find new pastures, which given I have been most places in Europe is no easy task.  Poland and Slovakia are definitely in the must see for this trip, but then I want to add in one more….but where to go?  I am as I have said previously in my blog headed on a life goal of going to 100 countries, but still got 40 or so to go, I have lots of work to do.

I’m currently scouring airline flight schedules seeing which countries that I have not been to will link up with Slovakia and Poland, and it isn’t easy, bizarrely you can go to Cyprus from Slovakia, so that is a potential.  I would like to go to Luxembourg, but connecting out of Luxembourg is crazy difficult. Lithuania, yes that is a real possibility, and especially so after reading the blog by mistakes and adventures.   Though getting there is not as straight forward as you would think, bearing in mind I have been told to  ‘avoid at all costs’ the airline Air Baltic.

In the end it will all come together and be an experience, it will take shape over the next few weeks as pay checks pave the way for a trip for travel fun.  Oh, and just to mix it up at the end I am finishing my trip by going to England to see family, and hopefully a Premier League game for Burnley FC 🙂
