East to Vaxholm and North to Norrtalje

The magical mystery tour around Sweden left Stockholm and headed east to Vaxholm which due to historical reasons is described as a city but with only 5000 residents it is hard to justify.  At just under 32 miles it is less than a hour outside Stockholm, but the countryside and the islets in the Stockholm archipelago makes it an interesting place to visit.

It also has probably the shortest ferry ride around that takes you from Vaxholm to the fortress probably takes around 4 minutes.  After a great lunch it was time to head out of Vaxholm to explore more of Sweden.

The road north can lead you to Norrtalje.  Either the E18 from Stockholm or Route 77 from Uppsalla will take you to Norrtalje.  It came with good reviews, though in fairness it was a little underwhelming. Nice to visit for a short while, but happy to move on and search out new pastures.
