At 14,409 feet Mount Rainier is a pretty incredible sight. It’s a pretty incredible sight on any day, and can be seen from miles around. Indeed, many of my favourite views of the mountain have been from many thousands of feet up in an aeroplane. Today was one of those days that Mount Rainier was at it’s radiant best.

Each year 10,000 people attempt the climb to the summit of Mt Rainier, but only half of them make it. I would like to attempt that climb someday, but not today. Today was about a drive up to Paradise. Paradise is an area of Mt Rainier National Park that is 19 miles east of the Nisqually entrance, and receives 641 inches of snow per year! That’s an amazing 53 feet per year!!

There are many incredible views around the park. Indeed Trip Advisor rate Mt Rainier National Park as 5 Stars out of 5, and you cannot say fairer than that. If you find yourself in Seattle take that 2 hour drive to a treasure that will not disappoint.
